Arterial is a short film completed in January 2013. It has screened at London Short Film festival, the East End Film festival, Split Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival and more…

Directed by Christopher Ian Smith and inspired by the John Keats poem La Belle Dame Sans Merci, Arterial is a short experimental fantasy exploring desire, escape and the impact of man’s progress on the natural landscape. It features an original soundtrack by electronic music pioneers Isan.

Arterial was a finalist in Shooting People’s Film Awards, judged by Rodrigo Pieto (Cinematographer of Wolf of Wall Street, Brokeback Mountain, and Amores Perros) who described Arterial as… “Intriguing and captivating, ‘Arterial’ presents the infrastructures built by mankind as a parallel to living, breathing organisms. Driving on streets that pump cars instead of blood cells, we find loneliness and routine only broken by fantasy.”
